Welcolme 2 INFORMATION

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Some people think Stockcars are cool some dont .Ive seen people building their Stockcars right from when it first was a car. They take the windows out first and then the seats, they rip out the interior and then weld the doors shut. Thats what they do with production saloons. The A & B grade Stockcars are totally custom made. I dont really know much about them so Ill talk about production saloons. The next step is to weld stainless steel onto the place where the lights used to be. Then you go and buy pins and you put those under the bonnet and boot so you can fasten them down. Ive seen my uncle do that but he normally smashes them off in the first few races. Then you go and buy a seat and a 5 way harness which by that time has costed you a few hundred dollars to do. The next thing is to weld the seat in which you have to get the driver positioned and then weld the seat in. Then you buy the key the fuel pump and the line. You hook them up to the motor and the fuel pump goes in the boot as does the fuel tank and then you have that set up. To put the key in to make the car go you have to buy a bit called the ignition which is custom made for Stockcars. It has a button to push that will start the motor up if the keys in. The battery box is custom made the lead goes into the motor and the ignition lights go into the motor and the you have a car that goes. next you have to paint the car. Which costs you a couple of thousand dollars. Then you choose which number and club you want to have. My uncles car is 69r which means 69 Rotorua. There are allsorts of different clubs in different places Ill tell you the ones I know K, Kihikihi RV, Range View A, Auckland H, Huntley MB, Mercury Bay and R, Rotorua. And then you can choose any number that is not taken. Then you get as many sponcers as you can but my uncle cant because he gave his car to his girlfriend. Then your ready to race if its in the season, the seasons are summer and winter but you dont race in winter cause you build your cars in winter. Then you race which is pretty simple you just drive the car around a track ant try not to spin out. Some people go places in big groups and race their cars. Some places are tight tracks some arent. And you have to have a Stockcar licence and log book with up to date information about your self . Thats all I really know about them. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
